The Pet Services and Pet Products Industries Have Increased Five-fold since 1994. Where’s the Money Being Spent?

Did you know that Americans have more than quadrupled their spending on their pets in the past 25 years? In 1994, we shelled out approximately $16 billion on our pets, and in 2020 that number shot up to $99 billion (according to the American Pet Products Association). And only about a third of that money has been on veterinary care? So where’s the rest of that money being spent? The pet care/pet services industries are growing exponentially, which means lots of well paying jobs for anyone who wants to work with, and on behalf of, pets?
