This #meetusonmonday, we’d like to introduce one of our amazing Interns, Jailene Pimentel, who recently graduated with a degree in Biology from St. John’s University. Jailene is pursuing a career in veterinary medicine, and is currently working as a veterinary assistant at a small practice in Brooklyn, NY. One of Jailene’s professional goals is to address the lack of accessibility to affordable vet care.
This picture was from her recent internship in Costa Rica where she was feeding a howler monkey named Meli. Jailene has a 12 year old Shih Tzu-Maltese mix named Ceci, and she used to have seven goldfish, one of whom lived for 6 years! In her free time, she enjoys being with family and playing the piano.
